Police from Maryborough Child Protection and Investigation Unit have charged five teenagers following a traffic crash in Granville yesterday, 19 August.
Initial enquiries indicate a member of the public reported her white Toyota Harris that had been parked on the intersection of Albert Street and Bazaar Street in Maryborough was stolen sometime between 11.30am on 18 August and 9am on 19 August.
It is alleged the vehicle was seen travelling dangerously on Boonaroo Road and Cambridge Street in Granville, before crashing in Hoffman Street around 11.15am.
It will be further alleged a group of youths exited the vehicle and fled the scene.
Officers intercepted four youths on the corner of Tiger Street and Dundas Street, and they were swiftly taken into custody.
The fifth youth was located near a property on Cambridge Street a short time later and also taken into custody.
A 17-year-old Morayfield boy was charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle, unlawful use of a motor vehicle in company and not being properly supervised as a learner driver.
He is due to face Maryborough Childrens Court today, 20 August.
A 15-year-old Granville girl was charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle in company.
A 14-year-old Maryborough boy has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle in company and driving a motor vehicle without a license.
A 13-year-old Tinana boy was charged with stealing and unlawful use of a motor vehicle in company.
A 14-year-old Buxton girl was charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle, unlawful use of a motor vehicle in company and driving without a licence.
They are all due to face Maryborough Childrens Court on 1 September.
