Operation Forge continues to crack down on crime across Queensland, reaching a new milestone with more than 4,700 offenders charged on more than 12,600 offences since February this year.

The statewide crime blitz targets offenders responsible for causing the most harm in our communities, including robbery, unlawful entry and unlawful use of a motor vehicle offences.

As part of the latest phase of Operation Forge, around 50 additional officers from the State Flying Squad and specialist units have been deployed to the South Brisbane and Logan Districts. These specialised units include the Public Safety Response Team and Highway Patrol Unit, which are working alongside local police to strengthen the frontline response.

Deputy Commissioner John Tims, Regional Operations said the results demonstrate the impact of intelligence-led, highly visible policing across the state.

“Operation Forge is about targeting those who are causing the greatest harm in our communities,” Deputy Commissioner Tims said.

“Intelligence-led deployments and surging centrally coordinated capabilities make an incredible difference for our districts. They provide an additional boost in resources to target high-harm offenders.

“I want to thank our police officers for their incredible efforts each and every day across Queensland.”

While it is still early days, Logan District Inspector Ian Galpin said the recent deployment to the South Brisbane and Logan Districts has delivered strong results.

“Since 26 June 2026, the coordinated operation has resulted in 102 offenders charged with 262 offences in South Brisbane, and 61 offenders charged on 177 offences in the Logan District,” Inspector Galpin said.

“During these deployments, the State Flying Squad and specialist units are targeting youth serious repeat offenders, high-risk offenders and those wanted for specific offences such as unlawful entry, robbery and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.”

“This is not only about responding to crime after it happens. It is about preventing crime before it occurs through our highly visible presence in the community where Queenslanders live, work and socialise.

“We are conducting proactive patrols and engaging with our local community including citizens and businesses.”

The Queensland Police Service remains committed to keeping the community safe and targeting those who cause harm in our communities.

Operation Forge is a six-month long statewide policing activity aimed to reduce crime and strengthen community safety.
