A 43-year-old man who allegedly absconded from Lotus Glen Low Custody Correctional Centre on June 1 has been taken into custody.
The man was located by police around 12.45am this morning in Cow Bay.
The tractor he is accused of taking from the centre remains outstanding.
He was charged with one count each of escape by persons in lawful custody and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
He was remanded in custody and is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court today, July 2.
