Detectives from the Moranbah Criminal Investigation Branch have charged a man following a domestic violence incident in Moranbah yesterday, February 22.

Police were called to a home on Connor Drive around 10.15am to reports a man had allegedly assaulted and stabbed a woman known to him, causing cuts to her elbow and behind her ear.

Upon arrival, the man allegedly armed himself with a bladed weapon and remained inside the property.

After negotiations, police arrested the man inside the home around 11.30am.

The woman and man were both treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The 32-year-old Moranbah man has been charged with one count each of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm (domestic violence offence), assaults occasioning bodily harm (domestic violence offence), serious assault police officer whilst armed, and two counts of breach of domestic violence order.

He has been refused police bail and is due to appear in Moranbah Magistrates Court on February 24.

Investigations are ongoing.
