Police are investigating a burglary with violence in Sunnybank overnight.
Shortly after 12.40am, three unknown people entered a Lister Street residence and attempted to steal a vehicle parked in the garage.
The occupants of the home, a 34-year-old man and 42-year-old woman, woke to the disturbance and attempted to intervene.
During the altercation, the 34-year-old man sustained a stab wound to his upper body.
The trio fled the scene in a different vehicle, and nothing was stolen.
The man was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with minor injuries.
Investigations are continuing.
