The Brisbane City Tactical Crime Squad have arrested and charged a man with multiple weapon offences following the interception of a vehicle in Lutwyche overnight.
At 7.10pm crews observed a suspicious white Ford Ranger along Lutwyche Road.
It will be alleged police sighted a knife in the vehicle’s centre console when they approached to speak to the driver.
Police detained the driver, and a search of the man allegedly located a second knife.
A subsequent search of the car resulted in the seizure of a loaded 0.22 calibre revolver, an unloaded glock handgun, face masks, gloves, a small amount of cannabis, and drug utensils.
A 25-year-old Annerley man has been charged with six offences including two counts of unlawful possession of weapons category H (firearms), and one count each of unlawful possessions of weapons category M (knife), possession of dangerous drug (cannabis), possession of property suspected of having been used in connection with the commission of a drug offence (pipe and scales) and possession of a knife in a public place.
The man was refused bail, and he is expected to appear before the Brisbane Magistrates Court today, May 9.
Investigations are ongoing.
