Prosecutors have abandoned their case against an Adelaide man who was originally charged with raping an aged care resident in Adelaide’s southern suburbs last year.

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions has declined to prosecute Yoon Heok Choe for three counts of rape.

Police previously alleged the incidents occurred between January 25 and February 9, 2023, while Mr Choe was working at an aged care facility in Adelaide’s southern suburbs.

The Beaumont man was arrested on February 24, last year and granted bail.

In October 2023, Mr Choe pleaded not guilty to the charges in the Adelaide Magistrates Court and was due to stand trial in the District Court earlier this year, before the DPP dropped the case.
