Police investigating the death of a woman whose body was found at a house in Adelaide’s north-eastern suburbs are searching for a ute they believe is connected with the crime.

Key points:

  • Police searched the property and found the woman’s body inside
  • Major Crime detectives are investigating
  • Police are searching for a white ute linked to the suspect

Police were called to a house in Kelly Road at Modbury North about 7pm on Tuesday to check on the welfare of a woman living at the premises.

Sergeant Peter Williams said officers searched the property and found the woman’s body inside the house.

Police have described the woman’s death as suspicious.

Major Crime detectives are investigating and believe the suspect may have left the area in a white 2008 Mitsubishi Triton ute with registration of XTN 167.

“Anyone who sees the vehicle is urged not to approach the ute but call the Police Assistance Line on 131 444,” Sergeant Williams said.

Police are searching for a white ute.

Neighbours have described the discovery as “shocking” and “terrible”.

One who only recently moved into the area said she “didn’t notice anything unusual” at the property.

But she said that, when she returned home last night, she spotted a police car out the front.

“It’s quite surprising and shocking for us as the neighbours,” another said.
