Samuel Joe Frost, 46, was arrested in March after a five-year manhunt by the Australian Federal Police (AFP) and the International Criminal Police Organisation (Interpol).

Today, he pleaded not guilty to charges that include having sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 14, producing child exploitation material and persistent sexual exploitation of a child.

Mr Frost did not apply for bail and has been remanded in custody for trial in the District Court.

In March this year, investigators searched the suspect’s home and allegedly found child abuse material on several electronic devices.

Detection dogs trained to detect technological items sniffed out the devices in various locations around the home.

The AFP said in a statement it was first alerted to the alleged material in 2018.

Representatives from the South Australia Joint Anti Child Exploitation Team (JACET) attended court today to hear Mr Frost answer his charges.

He will face court again in January.
