Two people have been taken to hospital after being bitten by their dog in Adelaide’s inner north-west.

SA Police said a man and a woman from Brompton were bitten by their dog around 8:30pm on Tuesday.

Both were taken to hospital and the dog has been removed from the property by staff from the local council.

The City of Charles Sturt said the incident occurred inside a private property on Blight Street.

In a statement, the council said police and an ambulance were called by the dog owner, who then contacted Charles Sturt for assistance.

The local council says the dog will be held until ‘a determination has been made’.(ABC News)

“The dog was impounded by CCS Community Safety After Hours Contractors, under the direction of our Senior Community Safety Officer,” the council said.

“We will investigate the attack today, contacting the owner and all parties involved, and will continue to hold the dog until a determination has been made.”

Locals said it had been hard to tell what was happening amid the noise and disturbance.

“There was lots of yelling and screaming … we saw the ambulance and the council van,” said Emily.
