The states and territories are now reporting their COVID-19 statistics weekly, instead of through the daily updates that were provided from the early days of the pandemic.

Australian Capital Territory

New South Wales
The state has recorded 1,978 new COVID-19 cases, up from last week’s total of 1,949.
There are 725 cases in hospital with the virus, 17 of those in intensive care.
There were 20 new deaths recorded.
Northern Territory
The state has recorded 89 new COVID-19 cases this fortnight.
There are two cases in hospital with the virus.
There have been 108 total deaths recorded since the start of the pandemic.
Queensland
Queensland’s new COVID-19 reporting process now works on a seven-day rolling average system, which differs from the other states and territories.
The state recorded 192 average daily cases as of August 1, down from an average of 209 the previous week.
There is a seven-day rolling average of zero deaths as of August 1, with 133 patients in hospital with the virus, and two people in intensive care.

South Australia
The state has recorded 526 new COVID-19 cases, up from last week’s total of 481.
There is a seven-day rolling average of 48 patients in hospital with the virus, and five people in intensive care as of August 2.
There were zero deaths notified in the past week.
Tasmania
