A motorbike rider and a driver have been killed in separate crashes in South Australia’s River Murray regions, with one of the incidents involving three cars and a truck.

Emergency services were called to the Sturt Highway at Paisley, near Blanchetown, just after 5:30pm on Thursday after reports of a multi-vehicle accident.

The driver of one of the cars, a 43-year-old man from Somerton Park, died at the scene.

Police are continuing to investigate, and are seeking witnesses to the crash.

While the driver of the truck was not injured, the drivers of the other cars were both taken to hospital.

A 26-year-old Swan Reach woman was taken to the Angaston Hospital with minor injuries and a 27-year-old man from West Croydon was taken to the Lyell McEwin Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Half an hour earlier, a man was killed in a collision between a motorbike and a Toyota Hilux at Renmark West.

Police were called to Ral Ral Avenue just after 5pm, and said the rider, “a 47-year-old man from Berri, sadly died at the scene”.

The number of people killed on the state’s roads this year now stands at 52, compared with 31 at the same time last year.
