Police closed an Adelaide street for six hours in what they said was a “high-risk incident” but made no arrests nor laid any charges.
Key points:
- Warren Road in Para Hills West was closed from 9:30am
- Police said no-one was arrested or charged with any crime
- They had previously described the situation as high-risk
Heavily-armed STAR Group officers attended the scene on Warren Road in Para Hills West, along with several other police vehicles and an ambulance crew.
The road, in Adelaide’s north, was closed from about 9:30am to 3:30pm but reopened after police said no arrests were made at a house they had been out the front of. No charges have been laid.
They said a bailiff attended the house this morning and requested police attendance.
Police told the media the incident was “high-risk”.
Tim Hopwood, who has lived on a street adjacent to Warren Road for 17 years, said it was “normally pretty quiet” in the area.
He said police had not given him any information.
He said it was concerning for neighbours.
“There’s quite a few elderly people and quite a few young families as well,” he said.
“I walked outside to put stuff in the rubbish bin and saw the police and cameras.”
Para Hills High School and Para Hills West Primary School are nearby.
“There’s normally lots of traffic, walking home, mums and dads driving down the road to pick up their kids,” Mr Hopwood said.
