A 26-year-old woman has died in a multi-vehicle crash at Gillman, in Adelaide’s north-west.

Another woman has been charged with multiple offences after allegedly running from the scene. 

The Port River Expressway, where the crash happened, is still closed between Perkins Drive and Hanson Road.

Emergency services were called to the expressway at about 9:35pm yesterday following reports of a five-vehicle crash. 

The North Haven woman who died was a passenger in a car whose driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Another person in the vehicle was also injured, as was an 18-year old woman from Broadview who was in another car.

Witnesses told police the driver of a Holden Cruze involved in the crash ran from her car.

A 38-year-old Port Adelaide woman was located nearby.

She has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, three counts of causing serious harm by dangerous driving, aggravated due care, leaving the scene of an accident, fail to exchange details after an accident and resisting police.

She was refused bail and is expected to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court later today.
