The two men were arrested and charged following an investigation by the state’s Independent Commissioner Against Corruption.
It is alleged that in October 2019, one of the officers kicked the man a number of times to the torso during the arrest, while the other officer forced his head to the concrete footpath while he was handcuffed and seated on the ground.
The men faced the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court for the first time on April 27, 2021, where an interim suppression order was placed on their identities.
Prosecutors told the court they wanted the men placed on simple bail conditions at the next appearance.
In a separate case, another police officer, Benjamin Oliver McLeod, 38, faced the Adelaide Magistrates Court in April 2021, charged with three counts of aggravated assault causing harm and two counts of aggravated assault.
The offences allegedly occurred in the south-western Adelaide suburbs of Glandore, Glenelg, Black Forest and Novar Gardens in August and December 2020.
Mr McLeod was placed on simple bail conditions, including being banned from contacting 38 police officers and from leaving the state.
