Investigations are underway after human remains were found in a South Australian park this afternoon.

A person walking through Hale Conservation Park on Warren Road spotted the remains at about 1.15pm.

The cause of death is unknown.

Hale Conservation Park is located at Williamstown, around 40km north-east of Adelaide.

Local police have now blocked off the area as investigations are underway.

Police will remain on scene throughout the night.

It’s expected that crime scene investigators will head to the site in the morning.
