A man has been taken to hospital in a serious condition after a stabbing at Elizabeth Vale in Adelaide’s north. 

Emergency services were called to Pasteur Street at about 1:45pm after reports a man had broken into a house. 

Police said the intruder was confronted by the occupant who stabbed him in the stomach. 

A witness said the occupant dragged the wounded man down the street to take him to the nearby Lyell McEwin Hospital for treatment.

Shortly after, the man was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital by ambulance in a serious condition.

Police said the occupant is assisting police with their enquiries.

They are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident to call Crime Stoppers.
