A man charged with murdering his mother in the Adelaide Hills has been remanded in custody.

Key points:

  • Linda Simon’s body was found in a shed on her property on Friday
  • Her son was charged with her murder
  • He was remanded in custody after not applying for bail

Bo Sebastian De-Simone, 36, was arrested on Friday at the Crafers West home he had been sharing with his 62-year-old mother, Linda Simon.

Police found Ms Simon’s body in a rear shed at the property during a welfare check.

Mr De-Simone faced the Adelaide Magistrates Court today, where he made no application for bail.

Prosecutors sought an adjournment of nine months for “forensic items to be tested”.

But Mr De-Simone’s lawyer, Martin Kirby, told the court it was a long delay and his client may apply for bail in the meantime.

The matter returns to court in December.

Police on Saturday would not provide details about when Ms Simon died, any injuries she suffered or any weapons involved.

She spoke at a rally against COVID-19 vaccine mandates, boosters and giving the jabs to children on the day of the South Australian state election last month.

She told the crowd she had led a team distributing 225,000 flyers on the issue.
