South Australians will head to the polls on March 19.
Here’s a look at what the Liberals and Labor have committed to so far.
Infrastructure
Liberal
- $662 million Riverbank Arena to replace the Adelaide Entertainment Centre. Would be built west of Morphett Street bridge
- Main South Road duplication, a “2 + 1 lane” road layout from Aldinga to Sellicks Beach
- $19 million bus transit investment in Adelaide Hills, including 15 new buses, new depot, new park and ride facilities at Crafers, investigate park and ride facilities at Bridgewater
Labor
- Main South Road duplication, full duplication from Seaford to Sellicks Beach
Health
Liberal
- $123 million for further expansions at Lyell McEwin, Modbury and Noarlunga Hospitals plus The Repat which includes:
- $52 million at Lyell McEwin for 48 new beds and land purchase
- $29 million to go towards a geriatric evaluation unit at The Repat
- $22.5 million at Modbury Hospital for a 24-person dementia ward
- $20 million for Noarlunga to be spent on 15 new treatment spaces
Labor
- New ambulance HQ, five new ambulance stations, upgrades and rebuilds to 10 other stations, 36 new ambulances, 350 new paramedics and ambulance officers
- 10 new mental health beds at Women’s and Children’s Hospital, five new child psychiatrists, 10 new child psychologists, 100 mental health specialists in schools
- 24 beds at Lyell McEwin Hospital, 24 at Flinders Medical Centre, 16 at Gawler Hospital
- Won’t spend $662 million on the Riverbank Area and has committed to pulling all funds forward from outside the budget estimate period to spend on health in the next four years
- 300 extra hospital beds across health system, including:
- 98 additional mental health beds
- Expanding new WCH by 50 beds at a cost of $100 million
- 100 extra doctors, including:
- $31.6 million for 48 doctors, including 17 senior specialists at the current WCH
- Hire 300 extra nurses, including 212 positions to match 300 new hospital bed pledge, 12 specialist nurses at current WCH at a cost of $6.2 million, 76 nurses “to target other priority needs”
- Will enshrine patient-nurse ratios in law
- Additional facilities at Modbury Hospital:
- $28 million for a new, 12-bed cancer treatment centre
- $53.7 million to keep and expand Woodleigh House by four beds to 24 beds
- $87 million for 48 new sub-acute beds
- $1 million for HeartKids
- $25.5 million for drug rehabilitation programs
- $17 million for expanded ambulance services across Mount Barker and Strathalbyn, including $4.5 million for a new Mount Barker station
- $2.4 million to fund Motor Neurone Disease SA

- Royal Commission into early childhood education
- A “commitment” to roll out universal pre-school for three-year-olds and changing out-of-school-hours care

- $12 million for upgrades to Myponga, Mount Bold, Happy Valley, Hope Valley and Beetaloo reservoirs to improve “visitor experience”
- Developing an “African Oasis” on banks of River Torrens through a transformation of Adelaide Zoo
- River Torrens revitalisation program, restoring recreational fishing and opening a nature trail from the hills to the sea
- Turning the Highbury dam into a recreation park

- Undo the privatisation of the Adelaide Metro train and tram network operation
