Police have seized several kilograms of illicit drugs, hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash as well as drug paraphernalia allegedly linked to a suspected drug syndicate in Adelaide’s south.

Serious and organised crime branch police made the arrests on Wednesday and Thursday, as part of an ongoing investigation into drug-dealing in the southern suburbs.

After a search of several properties across Adelaide, police found 1kg of methamphetamine, 100 grams of cocaine, 5kg of pseudoephedrine, 1kg of iodine, 2 litres of hypophosphorous acid, and a clandestine drug lab. 

Police also seized a total of $177,000 in cash.

Detective Chief Inspector David Scutchings said more arrests and seizures were likely to come.

“SAPOL will continue to proactively investigate people who choose to place the community at risk by trafficking drugs,” Chief Inspector Scutchings said.

A 35-year-old Aldinga Beach man was charged with 88 counts of drug trafficking and money laundering, after police found him in possession of 40g of methamphetamine, and $155,000 in cash.

A 34-year-old Windsor Gardens man and a 37-year-old Port Noarlunga South man have both been charged with drug trafficking, after police allege they were in possession of 1kg of methamphetamine.

A 64-year-old Huntfield Heights man was also charged with two counts of drug trafficking, after police alleged they found 14g of methamphetamine in his house.

A 39-year-old man from Sellicks Beach was arrested and charged with six counts of drug trafficking.

A 35-year-old Morphett Vale man was also charged with drug trafficking, with police alleging they found $8,000 in cash at his home.

Finally, a 47-year-old Hackham man was charged with 11 counts of drug trafficking, after police allegedly found him in possession of 1g of methamphetamine and $11,000 in cash.

Police said they expected to make further arrests.
