A man has been arrested for allegedly breaching COVID-19 directions by walking across the border in South Australia’s south-east.
Police received reports about 10:30am on Thursday of a man walking through a forest near the Princes Highway at Glenburnie, a short distance from the Victorian border.
They searched the area and found a 36-year-old man of no fixed address trying to hide by wearing camouflage clothing.
He was about 1 kilometre into South Australia when arrested.
He will face the Mount Gambier Magistrates Court via video link today, charged with failing to comply with a direction.
He returned a negative COVID-19 test result.
South Australia’s border with Victoria reopens on November 23.
