Teens arrested after stolen car tracked

Meanwhile, three boys were arrested after the police helicopter — PolAir — was used to track a stolen Range Rover through Adelaide’s southern suburbs overnight.

Police were called to Lindisfarne Road in Huntfield Heights just after 10:00pm on Friday following reports of cars doing burnouts.

Officers who attended witnessed a white Range Rover speeding away from the area and checks revealed the car had been reported stolen from a Rosslyn Park home the day before.

Southern police patrols cordoned the surrounding streets and PolAir helped in the search.

The car was spotted on Honeypot Road and tracked to Goldsmith Drive, before travelling through Christie Downs and onto the Southern Expressway.

It then exited onto Marion Road, going into the back streets of Marion, before being dumped on Cutting Streets.

Police said the three boys “scattered”, but ground patrols located and arrested all three teenagers nearby.

The alleged driver, a 16-year-old from Ferryden Park, was charged with breach of bail, aggravated serious criminal trespass, illegal use, aggravated engagement in a police pursuit and driving disqualified.

A 17-year-old from Pennington was charged with illegal use of motor vehicle, and a 16-year-old from Salisbury Park was charged with breach of bail.

All three were refused police bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday.
