A man accused of murdering a 44-year-old woman in Mount Gambier will remain behind bars at least until his next court date in January.

Luke Raymond Simpson, 35, appeared in the Mount Gambier Magistrates Court via video link from custody on Monday.
He is charged with the murder of Mount Gambier woman Rachel Martin.
Police found the body of the grandmother at a house on Chestnut Close in July this year.
The prosecution told the court it was still awaiting the post-mortem report and requested a 12-week adjournment.
Magistrate Koula Kossiavelos confirmed that committal proceedings were underway, but negotiations between the prosecution and defence were yet to begin.
The matter has been listed for an answer-charge date on January 17 next year, where it is expected Mr Simpson will enter a plea.
Limestone Coast police have previously said that the accused and victim were “known to each other”.
Superintendent Campbell Hill had said that local police had had “dealings” with the pair in early 2020, but had not had any contact with them since.
