The Toowoomba Forensic Crash Unit is appealing for information following a serious two-vehicle traffic crash at Greenmount earlier this morning, 20 October.
Initial investigations indicate around 10am a B-double truck was travelling south along Greenmount Etonvale Road when a vehicle travelling in front stopped intending to turn right onto Christensen Road.
It’s alleged when the truck driver commenced braking, the rear trailer slid into the opposite lane where it struck a red 2020 Toyota Corolla hatchback travelling in the opposite direction.
The driver of the Toyota, a woman aged in her 60s, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to hospital, while her passenger, a man aged in his 40s, sustained arm injuries and was transported to hospital for treatment.
The truck driver, a man aged in his 60s, was not physically injured.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash or has relevant dashcam or CCTV footage is urged to contact police.
Investigations continue.
