A man charged over the alleged serious assault of a Wishart man yesterday has had his charge upgraded to murder after the victim died in hospital overnight.

The 32-year-old Wishart man was initially transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition on Saturday morning, 10 October but has since passed away from his injuries.

A 32-year-old Cornubia man had his charge of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm upgraded to murder.

He has also been charged with contravening an order about information necessary to access information stored electronically.

The 32-year-old Cornubia man remains remanded in custody and is due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow, 12 October.
