This is a joint media release between all Australian state and territory police, Australian Federal Police, Australian Border Force, Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission and Australian Taxation Office.
Police and partner agencies across Australia and New Zealand have united to target the Lone Wolf Outlaw Motorcycle Gang (OMCG), a criminal network linked to violence, intimidation, illicit drugs and organised offending.
Task Force Morpheus, a cross-jurisdictional partnership designed to disrupt and dismantle criminal activity linked to OMCGs, led this year’s operation under the direction of the Queensland Police Service.
The task force brings together all Australian state and territory police and Commonwealth law enforcement partners and agencies who are members of the National Taskforce Operation Morpheus, providing a nationally coordinated response to outlaw motorcycle gang activity.
A National Day of Action was conducted on Thursday, 8 October 2026, aimed at disrupting the Lone Wolf OMCG and undermining its ability to conduct criminal activities across Australia.
The Lone Wolf OMCG has been assessed as posing a very high threat within Australia’s serious and organised crime environment, driven by its alleged involvement in illicit drug importation and trafficking, money laundering and acts of violence.
Additional enforcement measures undertaken on the day included Firearms Protection Order (FPO) compliance checks and bail compliance checks.
Key actions
In total, Taskforce Morpheus National Day of Action resulted in 20 arrests, comprising 69 charges.
Across the country and New Zealand, police conducted 18 search warrants, 10 FPOs and seized quantities of cocaine, MDMA, illicit tobacco and vapes.
Quotes attributed to Taskforce Morpheus Chair, Detective Superintendent Troy Pukallus.
“Organised crime groups such as the Lone Wolf OMCG continue to place profits ahead of public safety, exploiting communities through sophisticated criminal enterprises.
“Behind the supply of illicit drugs is a trail of harm that reaches into homes, families and communities across our country,” Detective Superintendent Pukallus said.
“The Lone Wolf OMCG is a criminal network whose business model is the use of violence, intimidation and organised offending for financial gain. They have no regard for the impact their actions have on the safety and wellbeing of the community.
“This operation sends a clear message: no matter how organised, connected or well-resourced these groups believe themselves to be, law enforcement agencies across Australia and New Zealand are united in our commitment to identify, disrupt and dismantle organised crime networks and the infrastructure that supports them.”

“The message to OMCGs and their associates is simple: we will continue to target and disrupt criminal activity wherever it occurs. The WA Police Force will use all available powers, working with partner agencies to target offending linked to OMCGs.
NSW Police Force Raptor Squad Commander, Detective Acting Superintendent Brad Abdy said this result highlights the value of interstate cooperation in targeting OMCG’s.

“Working alongside our law enforcement and non-traditional partners within Taskforce Morpheus and the Illicit Tobacco National Disruption Group, the ABF will continue to apply pressure across the criminal supply chain, targeting and disrupting those who exploit legitimate businesses, including tobacco shops, to conceal and facilitate organised criminal activity.”
Quotes attributable to ACIC Wendy Darling, Acting Executive Director Mission Coordination and Analysis:
