Detectives from the Ipswich Criminal Investigations Branch have commenced a homicide investigation following the death of a man in Fernvale yesterday evening, 27 September.

Around 5:55pm, emergency services were called to Stoneywood Street after reports that a vehicle had struck a man.

A 50-year-old Fernvale man was located unresponsive and declared deceased at the scene.

A crime scene was declared, and a 45-year-old woman, known to the man, was taken into custody at the scene and is currently assisting police with their enquiries.

Investigations into the circumstances of the man’s death are ongoing.
