A 47-year-old Townsville man has been charged with murder following the death of a 53-year-old man in Heatley on 11 September.

Just after 3pm, police were called to a unit on Narangi Street following reports of a disturbance.

Upon arrival, police located a 53-year-old Heatley man with life-threatening injuries. First aid was immediately provided by responding officers, however the man died at the scene a short time later.

A 47-year-old Townsville man, known to the 53-year-old man, was taken into custody at the scene.

He has been charged with murder (domestic violence offence) and is due to appear before Townsville Magistrates Court today, 12 September.
