The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating following a fatal vehicle crash involving a moped and a car at Horseshoe Bay on Magnetic Island, 6 September.
At 11.50am emergency services were called to Horseshoe Bay Road, between Heath Street and Henry Lawson Street.
The female rider of the moped, a 74-year-old woman, a Canadian national, was declared deceased at the scene.
The driver of the car was not physically injured.
People in the Horseshoe Bay area are being advised to expect traffic delays on Horseshoe Bay Road and are asked to consider travelling by foot.
Investigations into the crash are ongoing. Anyone with information or dashcam footage is urged to contact police.
