Police have charged a Mackay man with multiple driving offences following a hit-and-run traffic crash in Andergrove yesterday, 3 September.

Around 3:45pm, police were called to the intersection of Fernleigh and Banksia Avenues following reports of single-vehicle motorbike crash.  

Police will allege a blue and white Yamaha motorbike crashed into a fence and the rider walked away with the motorbike towards Maple Drive.

The rider was located a short time later and arrested.

A 39-year-old Mackay man has been charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle, fail to comply with duties of driver involved in a crash and give drivers particulars to owner of property damaged, drive UID, driving without a driver licence, unregistered vehicle, uninsured vehicle, and possess utensils.

He is due to appear in Mackay Magistrates Court today, 4 September.

Investigations are ongoing and anyone with information or relevant vision is urged to contact police.
