A 37-year-old Tarong man has been charged following two separate alleged dangerous driving incidents in the South Burnett last month.
Around 2.15pm on 22 August, police were conducting roadside breath testing on Youngman Street in Kingaroy, when officers attempted to intercept a silver Ford Falcon utility.
Police will allege the driver refused to stop and accelerated towards an officer, forcing him to move out of the vehicle’s path before the utility continued travelling southbound on the Bunya Highway.
Officers attempted to search for the vehicle but were unable to locate it.
Then on August 30, at about 2.55pm, police were conducting speed enforcement activities in Nanango when they detected a silver Ford Falcon utility allegedly travelling at 150km/h in a 60km/h zone along Appin Street.
Police attempted to intercept the vehicle before it allegedly evaded officers, with the vehicle later located on Raymond Road at Tarong.
A 37-year-old Tarong man was subsequently taken into custody and charged with two counts of driving without a licence, and one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle, endangering police officer when driving a motor vehicle, evade police, possessing tainted property, using stolen number plates and failing to comply with a requirement to stop.
He was remanded in custody and is due to appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on 14 October.
