A man has been charged in relation to a serious traffic crash at Caloundra West yesterday afternoon, 30 August.
At 3.30pm, police were called to Sugar Bag Road following reports that a pedestrian had been struck by a silver Nissan Pathfinder which then left the scene.
The 64-year-old male pedestrian was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital with serious leg and chest injuries.
The 60-year-old Caloundra West man who is alleged to have been the driver of the Nissan was later arrested by police.
He has been charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing grievous bodily harm and driver fail to remain at incident and render assistance showing callous disregard.
He was bailed to appear in Caloundra Magistrates Court on 17 September.
