Police have released an image of a white Toyota Hilux as part of a renewed appeal following a fatal traffic crash at Smithfield on 5 August.
At 1.25pm, police were called following reports a Toyota Landcruiser utility collided with a Rav4 and a Subaru Impreza on the Smithfield Bypass.
The driver and sole occupant of the Rav4, a 25-year-old Palm Cove woman, died at the scene.
A further four people were transported to Cairns Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A 36-year-old man was arrested a short time later and charged with several offences.
Police are hoping to speak to the driver of the pictured Hilux as they may be able to assist with investigations.
Anyone who may have observed a white Toyota Landcruiser utility, being driven in a concerning manner, while travelling south on the Captain Cook Highway between Palm Cove and Trinity Park between 1.15pm and 1.30pm on 5 August, is urged to contact police.
Investigations are ongoing, and police are urging anyone with relevant information or vision to come forward.
