Dutton Park Criminal Investigations Branch have charged a man with firearm related offences following investigations into reports of a disturbance on Railway Street in Murarrie last night, 26 August.
Around 8.20pm, a male allegedly refused to pay a taxi fare prior to travel and made threats towards a 28-year-old taxi driver whilst armed with a firearm.
The taxi driver was not physically injured during the incident and drove away without transporting the man and a woman and two children who were with him.
Responding police conducted patrols of the area however the group had already left the scene.
At approximately 1:15pm today, 27 August, investigators with the assistance of specialist police arrested the man at Capalaba.
The 21-year-old Berserker man has since been charged with offences of common assault and dangerous conduct with weapon.
The man’s police bail was refused, and he is expected to first appear before the Cleveland Magistrates Court on 28th August 2026.
