A man has been charged with two driving offences following a two-vehicle traffic crash on the Sunshine Motorway at Mooloolaba last night, 17 August.

Around 10.10pm, emergency services were called to reports a Toyota Hilux had collided with a Toyota Rav4, after the Hilux was allegedly driving on the wrong side of the road.

Upon arrival, officers located the driver of the Rav4, a 35-year-old Birtinya woman, with non-life-threatening injuries.

She was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

The driver of the Hilux, a 35-year-old Buderim man, allegedly returned a breath alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.2 per cent.

He was taken into custody at the scene and has had his licence suspended.

No other injuries were reported.

The 35-year-old Buderim man has been charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle and adversely affected by an intoxicating substance, and drive under influence of liquor.

He is due to face Maroochydore Magistrates Court on 14 September.

Anyone with relevant vision of the white Hilux prior to the crash, is urged to contact police.

Investigations remain ongoing.
