Police have charged a woman following investigations into an armed robbery in Clontarf overnight.
Initial enquiries indicate at 8.45pm yesterday, 11 August, a woman entered a business on the corner of Angus Street and Elizabeth Avenue allegedly armed with a knife.
It is further alleged she made threats to staff before stealing a number of items and fleeing the scene.
Police intercepted the woman a short time later at a park on Hornibrook Esplanade and an altercation ensued where an officer sustained minor injuries.
A 28-year-old Margate woman was taken into custody and subsequently charged with one count each of armed robbery and serious assault of a police officer, as well as four drug offences.
She is due to face Redcliffe Magistrates Court today, 12 August.
