Police have arrested and charged a high-risk offender with over 75 offences that have occurred across Queensland after he was located on the Gold Coast yesterday, 8 August.
Officers attended a Racecourse Drive, Bundall address around 12:15pm after receiving information that the 28-year-old Logan man was at the location.
Upon arrival, it will be alleged that officers located and attempted to engage with the man; however, he fled to a nearby stolen Toyota Aurion, where he armed himself with a knife.
Officers attempted to again engage with the man before the successful deployment of a taser, and the man was taken into custody shortly after.
The 2013 Toyota Aurion was reportedly stolen from a Jutland Street, Loganlea address on 6 August.
The 28-year-old Logan man has been charged with four counts of stealing of a vehicle, two counts of stealing, and one count each of arson, possess used utensils, obstruct police, possession of knife in a public place, possess dangerous drugs, possess s4 medicine.
Officers have further charged the man with an additional 65 offences in relation to several alleged property and dangerous driving incidents over the past several months in Queensland, including the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and Logan, Gold Coast and Mackay areas.
He has been refused police bail and is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow, 10 August.
