A man has been charged following investigations into a traffic crash in Castle Hill.
It will be alleged at around 11pm on 6 August, two motorbikes were parked on a footpath on Castle Hill Road, with the riders standing nearby, when a white Holden Commodore utility mounted the footpath and struck both riders.
The two 31-year-old male riders sustained minor injuries and were transported to hospital.
The driver of the Holden is alleged to have left the scene without rendering assistance.
Following inquiries, a 42-year-old Townsville City man was arrested on 7 August.
He has been charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle and driver fail to remain at incident and render assistance showing callous disregard for the needs of a person injured.
The man’s bail was refused, and he is due to appear before Townsville Magistrates Court on 8 August.
