The Forensic Crash Unit is continuing to appeal for public assistance as investigations into a fatal traffic crash at Hodgson Vale in 2024 remain ongoing.
Shortly before 9pm on 31 December, police will allege a white single cab Hilux was travelling along Windermere Drive when it struck a 57-year-old Toowoomba man near Hazelmere Court.
The driver is then alleged to have left the scene.
The man was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment but succumbed to his injuries several weeks later.
An 18-year-old Middle Ridge man, who was 17 at the time of the incident, was charged with one count each of drive without due care and attention causing death, driver fail to remain at scene and render assistance, fail to comply with duties of driver and give required particulars to a police officer, and driving defective vehicle in December 2025 following extensive investigations.
Police are continuing enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the crash and believe there may be witnesses or others yet to come forward.
They are urging anyone who has not yet spoken to investigators, or who has information or relevant vision of the incident or the moments leading up to it, to come forward.
