Detectives from Ayr Criminal Investigation Branch have released a computer-generated image of a man who may be able to assist with investigations into a wilful exposure incident in Ayr on 23 July.

Around 9.15am, a 25-year-old woman attended Alva Beach, entering the beachfront via the walking track directly in front of Alva Beach Park, before sitting on the beach.

A short time later, an unknown man entered the beach from a separate walking track to the south.

He stood by a tree approximately 10 metres away from the woman and allegedly exposed himself.

The man then started to approach the woman, and she run away via the southern walking track.

The man is described as Caucasian, in his 50s, approximately 175cm tall, with grey hair.

He was wearing an old grey hoodie and cargo pants.

At this stage no further complaints have been received, and the matter appears to be an isolated incident.

Anyone who may have seen anything suspicious, who recognises the man in the image, or who has relevant video footage is urged to contact police.
