Police have charged two teenage boys after the alleged theft of a mobile phone at Oxley yesterday, 27 July.
It will be alleged that around 4pm, the group of teens approached a 15-year-old boy near Jutland Street before threatening him and demanding his phone.
The boy complied, and the group then fled the area in a nearby grey Mazda CX-30, which was reportedly stolen from an Agincourt Street, Grange address on 4 July.
The 15-year-old boy was not physically injured during the interaction.
About 10 minutes later, patrolling officers spotted the vehicle on Yallambie Road, Jindalee, before it was tracked onto the Centenary Motorway southbound.
The vehicle continued to be tracked for some time before the successful deployment of a tyre deflation device at Redbank, with the vehicle being abandoned near Collingwood Drive, and three people being taken into custody nearby.
A 16-year-old Ripley boy has been charged with stealing, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, demanding property with menace with intent to steal.
He was refused police bail and is due to appear in Ipswich Childrens Court today, 28 July.
A 19-year-old Goodna boy has been charged with stealing, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, demanding property with menace with intent to steal.
He is due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on 11 August.
A 13-year-old Goodna boy was released from custody but continues to assist police with their investigations.
