Police have charged a man following investigations into a wilful damage and assault incident at Beenleigh on 21 July.
Initial investigations indicate that around 10.25am, a woman had stopped her vehicle on George Street after being involved in a minor traffic crash.
It will be alleged an unknown man then exited his vehicle and approached the woman’s parked car and kicked the driver’s side window, causing damage, before attempting to open the locked driver’s door.
The man was unable to gain entry to the vehicle before returning to his utility and leaving the scene.
The 24-year-old woman was not physically injured during the incident.
It will be further alleged that at approximately 11.30am, a woman was driving through a car park on George Street with her child in the car, when she stopped at a pedestrian crossing.
Police will allege the man approached the driver’s side of her vehicle while holding an open can of drink and attempted to open the door.
It will be alleged the man verbally abused the woman before throwing the open can through the partially opened driver’s side window, striking the woman.
Neither the 22-year-old woman or the 8-month-old child sustained any physical injuries.
Following investigations, police charged a 41-year-old Eagleby man has been charged with two counts each of wilful damage and attempted enter premises with intent to commit an indictable offence, and one count each of common assault, going armed so as to cause fear, carry exposed weapon in a public place and obstruct police officer.
He was refused police bail and is due to appear at Beenleigh Magistrates Court today, 24 July.
