Police have declared an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) in relation to a police incident this afternoon, 24 July.
Officers were called to an address on Wylie Street, Atheron just after 4pm, for a welfare check.
An exclusion zone has been established while police respond, encompassing Weaver Street to Jansa Court and Jansa Court, including Mcconaghie Street.
Residents within the exclusion zone are asked to stay indoors and members of the public to avoid the area, to allow police operations to continue safely.
