A police officer has been shot in the leg following a reported incident at Yengarie this evening, 24 July.
Officers initially attended a Horizon Court address at 5:45pm for a welfare check.
Upon arrival, officers attempted to engage with a man at the property, before an officer sustained a gunshot wound to their leg.
The officer has since been transported to hospital for treatment in a stable condition.
Officers remain at the address and are attempting to engage the man, and members of the public are asked to avoid the area.
As this is an ongoing matter, there is no further information at this time.
