The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a serious traffic crash in Palmwoods this morning, 23 July.
Initial enquiries indicate just before 10am, a grey Suzuki Ignis crashed into a tree on Woombye Palmwoods Road.
The sole occupant, a 62-year-old Palmwoods woman, was taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.
The road was closed for approximately one hour and has since reopened.
Investigations are ongoing, anyone with relevant information or vision is urged to contact police.
