Detectives from the Logan Criminal Investigation Branch are investigating the attempted armed robbery of a tobacconist at Slacks Creek last night, 21 July.
Initial investigations indicate that around 10.40pm, three male offenders arrived at a tobacconist on Kingston Road in a Ford Falcon sedan that had been reported as stolen from Rand Place at Bridgeman Downs on 18 July.
Police will allege the offenders entered the store and one of them presented a firearm before fleeing the scene in the stolen vehicle.
No one was physically injured, and no items were stolen during the incident.
A short time later, responding officers located the stolen Ford Falcon abandoned on Jacaranda Avenue at Kingston.
It will be alleged three offenders fled on foot into nearby bushland and following a foot pursuit, officers arrested a 17-year-old boy nearby who was in possession of a knife and a balaclava.
A 17-year-old Inala boy has been charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, obstruct police officer and possession of a knife in a public place.
He is due to appear at Beenleigh Childrens Court on 27 July.
Investigations remain ongoing to identify and locate the two outstanding offenders.
Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has relevant vision from Kingston Road or Jacaranda Avenue around the time of the incident contact police.
