Mount Isa Tactical Crime Squad have charged two people after executing a search warrant at Pioneer and allegedly locating a large quantity of drugs on Monday, 13 July.
Around 6.40am, police executed a search warrant where it is alleged multiple bags containing what appeared to be methylamphetamine were located.
It will be further alleged police seized a total of 234.5grams of methamphetamine which has a street value of approximately $165,000.
A 43-year-old Mount Isa man has since been charged with six offences including three counts of possessing dangerous drugs, and one count each of possessing dangerous drugs Schedule 1 drug quantity of or exceeding Schedule 4, possess property suspected of having been acquired for the purpose of committing a drug offence and possessing/acquiring restricted items.
His bail has been refused, and he is next expected to appear in the Mount Isa Magistrates Court on 15 October.
A 37-year-old Soldiers Hill woman was charged with four offences including one count each of possessing dangerous drugs Schedule 1 drug quantity of or exceeding Schedule 4, possess property suspected of having been acquired for the purpose of committing a drug offence, unlawful possession of weapons category A, B or M and possess utensils or pipes etc for use.
She is expected to appear in Mount Isa Magistrates Court on 17 August.
