Two people have been charged after police located drugs and a firearm during a proactive patrols in Morayfield overnight, 17 July.

It will be alleged that around 12.45am, Detectives from Caboolture Criminal Investigation Branch approached a 39-year-old man and 42-year-old woman with a Mitsubishi Triton at a shopping centre carpark on Morayfield Road for a street check.

While searching the vehicle, officers allegedly located a firearm, along with ammunition and drugs.

Subsequently, a 39-year-old Caboolture male was taken into custody, and was charged with one count each of unlawful possession of a weapon cat H – short firearm in public, authority required to possess explosives.

He is expected to appear before Caboolture Magistrates Court today, 17 July.

A 42-year-old Auchenflower woman was also charged with two counts of possess dangerous drug and one count each of possess dangerous drugs over schedule, possess utensils or pipes and possessing anything used in the commission of a crime.

She is expected to appear in the Caboolture Magistrates Court on 4 August.
