A teenager has been charged with traffic offences as investigations continue into a two-vehicle traffic crash at Elimbah Wednesday night, 8 July.

Initial investigations indicate that at approximately 10.10pm, a gold Ford Falcon collided with a gold Nissan Patrol on Beerburrum Road near the intersection of Jacks Lane.

The Nissan Patrol rolled onto its side following the collision. The 19-year-old female driver of the Nissan Patrol and her 17-year-old male passenger both sustained minor injuries.

Police will allege the occupants of the Ford Falcon fled the crash scene on foot before entering a blue Ford Falcon that had been travelling with them.

A short time later, officers located the blue Ford Falcon after it stopped on Beerburrum Road due to mechanical issues.

Police will allege the driver attempted to continue driving as officers approached before complying with police directions to exit the vehicle.

It will be further alleged the driver returned a breath alcohol concentration of 0.092 per cent.

A 17-year-old Morayfield boy has been charged with one count each of learning to drive must be properly supervised, passenger fail to wear an approved seatbelt properly adjusted and fastened, driving a defective light vehicle, learner driving without displaying L plates, and driving over the general alcohol limit but not over the middle alcohol limit while not the holder of a licence or learner, probationary or provisional licence.

He was issued with a Notice to Appear at Caboolture Childrens Court on 15 July

Investigations into the traffic crash remain ongoing, with police continuing to investigate who was driving the gold Ford Falcon involved in the collision.

Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash, observed either Ford Falcon travelling in the Beerburrum Road area before or after the incident, or who has relevant vision to contact police.
