Police have charged a 19-year-old man with several offences after he allegedly drove at and damaged a marked police vehicle at West Gladstone on Friday, 3 July.

It will be alleged that around 7:20pm, officers attempted to intercept a Holden Commodore on Fowler Lane, but it failed to stop, struck the police vehicle, and fled the area.

The officers in the vehicle were not physically injured.

Later that evening, police located both the Holden and the alleged male driver at a Clinton residence and took him into custody. The vehicle was also seized.

He has been charged with six offences including two counts of unlicensed driving and one count each of damaging emergency vehicle when operating motor vehicle, and evasion offence.

Bail has been refused, and he is due to reappear in Gladstone Magistrates Court on 13 July.
